Ingredients:

Steps:

  1. combine buttermilk, hot sauce chili powder, cayenne, black pepper, and 2 tsp salt and whisk.
  2. Soak shrimp for ~5 minutes
  3. Mix AP flour, corn meal, paprika, and 2 tsp salt
  4. Dredge shrimp in flour / corn meal mixture.
  5. Shallow fry in ~4 batches. It took about 2 minutes per side.

Notes:

I made a half batch the first time (1 lb of shrimp). I did not really give the dredge a change to dry / soak into the shrimp. I think that may be an important step, so try dredging and letting sit for 15 minutes - 1 hour.
